Richard Rosenquist Brandell is Professor of Clinical Genetics at the Department of Molecular Medicine and Surgery, Karolinska Institutet, and Senior Physician in Clinical Genetics at Karolinska University Hospital, Sweden. He is also Director of Genomic Medicine Sweden, a national infrastructure for implementing precision medicine. Professor Rosenquist has made outstanding contributions to the understanding of the mechanisms behind the development of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and other lymphomas. His studies have identified novel prognostic and predictive markers, defined new clinically relevant subgroups, as well as provided significantly improved risk stratification at the individual patient level.
