Gianluca Gaidano is Professor of Hematology at the
Medical School of the Amedeo Avogadro University of Eastern Piedmont in Novara,
Italy. He is also Director of the Division of Hematology of the Academic
Hospital ‘Maggiore della Carità di Novara’. He received his MD and PhD from the
University of Turin, Italy, and became a specialist in internal medicine and
hematology. From 1990 to 1994, he attended Columbia University in New York,
USA, where he trained in molecular hematology. He is the former President of
the Italian Society of Experimental Hematology. He has served on the EHA
Scientific Programme Committee and is presently serving on the Fellowship and
Grant Committee of the EHA. He is currently a board member of the Italian
Lymphoma Foundation (FIL) and of the GIMEMA working party on chronic lymphoproliferative
disorders. He has authored and published over 400 scientific articles.
