Steven Coutré is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology at the Stanford University School of Medicine in Stanford, USA. He graduated from Northwestern University, received his medical degree from Stanford University, and completed his internship and residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, USA. Following fellowship training in hematology at Stanford, Professor Coutré worked as a research scientist at Gilead Sciences prior to joining the Stanford University faculty. Professor Coutré is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Specialties (Hematology). He is also a member of the American Society of Hematology and serves as Vice Chair of the Leukemia Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group, as well as a panel member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network Acute Myeloid Leukemia and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia committees. He is Medical Director of the Outpatient Hematology Clinic at Stanford. Professor Coutré’s research interests focus on translational clinical research for hematologic malignancies, particularly CLL.
